About Shenaaz

Picture
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California.
(License #75300.)

Searching for a therapist can be a complex process.  My hope is that you find a match that helps you deepen in your own healing work and path – whether that is with me, or another therapist.

I birthed my psychotherapy practice after years of working from a systems and macro, or community-wide stance, where I focused on issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, patriarchy, and community violence more broadly. While doing this work, I often felt that it was hard to see and feel progress being made towards our goals of building more safe and connected communities.  I also felt frustrated by remedies focusing on criminalizing the problems, rather than healing from systemic oppression, and interpersonal wounding. Rather than deporting and locking people in cages, I desired to see people take responsibility for their actions, recognize the impact of their choices, and ultimately forgive themselves and one other.  I wished to see and facilitate the potential to love deeper, and trust again.

So I began to study and learn about ways to support people in their healing process.

I believe that our social location, our material conditions, our identities, and “other markers of difference”, deeply inform how we live and move in the world, and it is from this place that I work with people on their path towards individual healing and liberation.
